I actually like the gear a lot, so no complaints there. The customer service side was just a bit frustrating. It took them several days longer than I expected to get back to me, and when they did, the first response felt like one of those canned apologies companies send to everyone. They did eventually answer my question, which I appreciate, but the whole back-and-forth could’ve been a lot quicker and more personal.

I’ve always liked Black Diamond gear, so I was surprised by how messy the repair/replacement process felt. It took a long time to hear back, and I had to follow up twice just to figure out what was going on. They did eventually offer a replacement, but the whole thing felt slow and kind of unclear, like I kept wondering if my case was being ignored or pushed aside. Not the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with, but definitely more hassle than I expected from them

I really wanted to like these, but the bindings got loose ridiculously fast, which was super frustrating. the poles felt kind of cheap for what they cost. For the price, I expected way better, not this tiny little gear tragedy.

I picked up a jacket and some climbing gear from Black Diamond, the quality has been really solid. The jacket fits well, everything feels sturdy, and the zippers actually glide smoothly, which I appreciate. I’ve used the gear quite a bit already and haven’t had any issues. It definitely wasn’t the cheapest option, but it feels like the kind of stuff that’s built to last. My only gripe is that I probably bought it at the worst time price-wise, so that’s on me more than anything.

The traction felt really solid to me. Just from how confident it felt on the road, I’d assume these were made with grip and stability in mind. It gave off a sturdy, reliable feel without me having to think much about it.

On top of that, having to go through verification over and over again made the whole experience even more frustrating. Not something I’d want to deal with again...

The harness was actually comfortable, so I’ll give it credit there. That said, the cams slipped once when I was on wet rock, which was frustrating. I get that conditions weren’t ideal, but still, I’d expect a bit more reliability.

I bought a headlamp and some gloves, and both feel solid for the price. I can’t remember if I ordered them earlier in the week or the week before, but they showed up without any hassle and shipping seemed fine. Overall, I’m happy with everything.

I bought a Black Diamond headlamp from their site, and so far it’s been better than I expected. I’m usually cautious with gear and don’t fully trust battery claims until I’ve tested them myself, so I brought a backup light just in case. But after a couple night hikes and using it around camp, the battery was still going strong and I didn’t have to charge it right away. Shipping was smooth too, no issues on that end.

It kept me warm all day, so no complaints there, the insulation feels really solid. I just wish the communication around the product details had been clearer, because I had to figure out a few things on my own and that was annoying

It cut the wind better than I thought too, which was nice. Shipping was normal, site worked fine, no weird issues or anything. So far, yeah, I’m happy with it.

For the price, I was hoping it would stay brighter for longer. I’d give it 3 stars.

I ordered a light jacket from Black Diamond because I needed something for hikes, and I’d been meaning to replace my old one that’s been sitting in the back of my closet forever. The fit is totally fine, and shipping was smooth with no issues. The only thing is the breathability is just okay. I wore it on an uphill hike, nothing too crazy, just one of those trails where you start regretting bringing coffee beforehand, and I got sweaty quickly. It also didn’t dry as fast as I thought it would. It’s still usable and I’ll keep wearing it, but I probably wouldn’t grab it first on warmer days.

I’ve been using Black Diamond gear for years, i kind of regret not sticking with them from the start. Every time I try to save a few bucks with something else, I’m reminded why their stuff has such a solid reputation. It always feels dependable and well made. Definitely not the cheapest option, but when it really matters, I trust it.
